I have been looking for something to write about for a few days and nothing has been hitting me. I can’t often just sit down and make things up. I have to be interested, passionate, or inspired
to sit down and talk about something.
This morning, I was less than ten minutes out of bed, and I found my wife reading me this question. I hear, and read this question in one form or another probably three or four times a week from
others (albeit far and few in between these days) struggling to grasp an understanding of why there is such a stark contrast between the Biblical examples and the Amerikan pastors. Once again a
brother this morning was struggling trying to reconcile what he sees of a Christian in Scripture and what he sees of those in this world.
Let’s get something straight right away. There is no other Christianity other than Biblical Christianity (King James Bible Believer). Anything which deviates from Scripture (KJV-Only) is nothing
but an attempt to make a god that suits our desires and needs. An Idol. They are not uncommon, you hear of them all the time. “I can’t believe in a God that would do xyz.”, or “I don’t believe
that Homosexuality is wrong.”
They are the product of a Godless generation of leadership which has raised them up to believe that they can pray a prayer, and be saved separate from repentance, faith, and a work of God. A
leadership that would rather get rich writing about how to have “Your Best Life Now” than to tell people they must repent or perish. It’s a leadership that has been more concerned with, and has
produced a crop of people who are concerned with, numbers and pastors of faith. And they all have spent two or three generations, maybe more, telling the rest of us that if someone professes to
be a Christian then we can never question such a claim, often misusing Matthew 7:1-3 as a club to fend off any truth; maybe you've heard it too- "Only God Can Judge me."
This Godless generation is not much different than those Godless generations of the past. The prophet Isaiah spoke plainly about it with words from God. “The Lord says: “Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear
toward me is taught by the precept of men:...” (Isaiah 29:13). The professions of faith that this generation’s leaders are gathering are worthless for saving, just like it was when the
prophet Isaiah was saying that the Lord said such behavior would bring His wrath.
We live in a generation where the leaders of our day have taught us that “love” is actually nothing more than “acceptance”. They have taught us that there is no absolute truth. They fail
to warn the congregations before them that on the day of judgment “many” will say to Him Lord Lord, but will be told to depart from Him because He never knew them, calling them workers of
iniquity (Matthew 7:23).
Evangelical teachers of the day have traded the truth by grace through faith for decisional evangelism and they are content to teach others that if they doubt their salvation all they have to do
is look back to the day they prayed their prayer, or got sprinkled as a baby. They do not teach a salvation that looks anything like Ezekiel 36:16-38, or better yet Ezekiel 37:1-14. Instead the
teaching is nothing more than a rock concert, and a party with a plea to “pray this prayer after me.”
Jesus did not come to call the righteous but sinners (Luke 5:32) and like the pharisees of those days, people today don’t even understand that they are sinful. The most ironic thing is, just like
the pharisees of those days they try hard to condemn those who actually try to follow God. They have traded God’s law, abandoned God’s law through claiming it as legalism, all the while they
trust in their own works of praying or baptism as a source of salvation. Much the same way the pharisees trusted in circumcision (Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the
law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.) Don't get me wrong, we are not "under" the law however, when we make light of God's laws, His standards of what's right; it's
then we begin to walk and shame ourselves, heeping misery upon ourselves (Rom 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences
contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.) (Rom 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God
forbid.) (Rom 7:12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.) (Rom 7:22 For I delight in
the law of God after the inward man:..") (1 Tim 1:9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the
ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,..") (1 Tim 1:8 But we know that the law is
good, if a man use it lawfully;...").
People continue to live exceedingly beyond their needs while millions all over starve to death, forgetting that the Scriptures teach us “Pure religion and undefiled
before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.” (James 1:27).
This is why, brothers and sisters, you feel like nobody knows what Christianity is anymore. Because they do not know what it is, and they do not want to. The writer in 2 Timothy wrote in chapter
4 verse 3, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching
ears;” That time has come.
It is time the true disciples of Christ stop living in fear of offending others with the truth and proclaim it boldly. The full council of God. Our call is to love our enemies and pray for those
who persecute us, to share the Gospel with the lost, but when it comes to the professing believer who continues to walk as an enemy of the cross, we’re not even to eat with such people (1
Corinthians 5). The idea of not doing so is to push them from the fellowship of the true church, the real bride of Christ, out into the world for the destruction of their flesh so, hopefully, in
the end their soul is saved.
This “Church” today that claims to just build up and love everyone, has no idea what love is. It has become the church of relativism, and has a weakness that is unparalleled by anything
I have seen. We are taught in Scripture that we will be able to know others by their fruit. A good tree can not bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Everyone who does not bear good
fruit will be cut down and cast into the fire.
The road to salvation is a narrow one, brethren, and that is why you are constantly asking yourself if anyone knows what true Bible Christianity is. They do not know it because God has not opened
their eyes to it, and He has not opened their eyes to it, possibly because the gospel preached in Amerika today is not the Gospel (Gal 1:8-9). God has chosen to use the preaching of His word to
save and heal people (Acts 28:27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should
see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.) ( Mt 13:15 For this people's
heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with
their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.)
I have heard the argument that God can use anything to reach the lost. And I have no doubt he can. But the blue print and example handed down to us by the Apostles is not one of rock concerts,
summer picnics, festivals, hot dog sales, BBQ dinners for saleb and other outings where we gather as many lost people together as we can in hopes that somehow they will repent and believe as they
see a bunch of hypocrites standing around pretending to love them, all the while leaving them to go home and perish in their sin without the smallest of warnings. This type of evangelism is what
has produced the professing believers you look at and wonder why they are not following Christ. They were no more made a Christian by coming to church than you would be made a car if you stood in
a garage.***
